TREES ARE OUR ONLY HOPE
Earth Day is a day where people from all over the world make their voices heard in united support for the protection of our planet.  This is the one day where people and organizations join together to ask for the sustainable protection of our natural resources for current and future generations by asking individuals, organizations and governments to do their part.

In anticipation of Earth Day, Trees for the Future is reflecting upon how it has and WILL participate in the sentiment of Earth Day. We expect to continue these efforts in 2012 by expanding our efforts in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

To assist our 2012 goal we are participating in Global Giving's Open Challenge. Global Giving is an online fundraising platform for non profit organizations which works with corporate and individual donors to raise money and organize donors for a specific project posted on their website. They do not provide grants rather they make available to the organization unique online tools, strategic support, and the opportunity to connect with their vast network of individuals and corporations.  However, in order to obtain these benefits participants need to raise at least $4,000 from at least 50 unique donors to show Global Giving that we are a non-profit that is in good standing with our existing donor base.

Beginning today we are a part of the Global Giving's Open Challenge. Our pilot project features our work in Haiti and it is posted on Global Giving's website which can be found here: We request you to support our project and help us make the planet healthier and the people of Haiti more self sufficient. With this said your financial support will not only assist us in our mission but will also help us expand in 2012 by giving us an opportunity to become long-term members of the Global Giving community and have access to their resources.
